For the purpose of this Privacy Notice, “Personal Information” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual. In connection with the Platform, we obtain Personal Information relating to you from various sources described below.

a. Personal Information Provided by You

When you register on the Platform to attend an Event, we will ask you to provide certain Personal Information, such as your name, e-mail address, company name, telephone number, username, password, and other information to facilitate your Event attendance such as a passport or other government issued ID number.

We will also collect any additional information you provide to us, including when you contact us via email or by phone with an inquiry.

We may also collect other preferences in connection with your registration and attendance of the Event, including details of registration, hotel preferences and travel. For example, information supplied via registration may be used to coordinate on-site transfers and hotel arrival/departure dates. You may also choose to disclose any dietary restrictions and/or medical conditions that you want us to know about in the context of an Event. You acknowledge that any sensitive Personal Information you provide will be processed in accordance with this Privacy Notice.

If you choose to register a guest to an Event, we will also collect information about your guest. You acknowledge that any guest you register has agreed to the processing of their Personal Information as described in this Privacy Notice and the Terms and Conditions.  

We may also provide the ability for you to post additional content within the Platform, such as comments or photos, or within your account.

During the Event, we may also take photos and/or videos of you and/or your guest, which may contain your or your guest’s personal identifiable image.

b. Personal Information Obtained from Your Interaction with the Platform

When you use the Platform, we may collect certain information via automated means such as cookies and similar technologies, including information on actions taken on the Platform, dates and times of those actions, location information (such as via GPS, your mobile network, or Bluetooth beacon), mobile carrier, internet browser, operating system on your device, device IP address or other unique identifier for any mobile phone, tablet, or other device used to access the Platform. We use this information to enhance your experience and improve the Platform by assessing how many users access or use our service, which content, products, and features of our service most interest our visitors, what types of offers our customers like to see, and how our service performs from a technical point of view. We may use the Personal Information we obtain about you to:

• Provide you with the services in connection with the Event, such as to confirm logistics and transportation, which may include disclosure of your Personal Information to certain third parties including Suppliers to book a hotel and/or transportation on your behalf.  
• Communicate with you in connection with the Event and/or the Platform by email, phone, SMS, push notifications (if you downloaded the mobile application and consented to receive such notifications on your device) or other means.
• Create and manage your account, provide our products and services and enable features of the Platform as applicable to the Event, such as attendee lists; event schedules and personalized schedules; "check-ins"; surveys/polls; messaging; agenda sessions; exhibitors; recommendations; content customization; lists of speakers and locations; notifications and reminders, posting, sharing and messaging functionality.
• Provide you with information about the Event that you are attending, such as notifications of a change in status to your Event request, or updates to an event you have elected to attend; general event information; schedule reminders; and Event room or venue changes.
• Prepopulate Platform fields such as conference agendas, attendee lists, speakers, exhibitor lists, account flex strings, and event location information.
• Send you marketing communications and provide you with ads about products, services, offers, programs and promotions of Mastercard, its issuers, acquirers, retailers and partners (including contests, sweepstakes and any other marketing activities). We will seek additional consent from you for this use, where required by law.
• Provide you with personalized services, recommendations, ads and email communications from Mastercard, its issuers, acquirers, retailers and partners. For example, we may suggest specific products or services or other special marketing activities that we think would be of particular interest to you based on your interaction with the Platform, your online behavior and other Personal Information we may obtain about you. We will seek additional consent from you for this use, where required by law.
• If you registered for an Event via the mobile application Platform, then with your consent, we may collect and use your precise (or GPS) location information collected from the mobile application to verify your location and deliver content based on your location such as nearby sessions and meetings.
• Announce your name as winner of or participant in the Event and/or promote the Event and engage in other promotional and marketing activities related to the promotion of our brand and/or our products and services throughout the world in in our internal and external social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc., including “tagging” you in any or all social networks where you have a profile, as well as by any means of communication or support known or developed in the world, be it graphic, mechanical, electronic, visual, audiovisual, radial.  Please note that these channels, where your Personal Information may be published for the purposes described above, are unrelated to Mastercard; and, therefore, Mastercard cannot be held liable for their practices and privacy policies.  We encourage you to become familiar with their privacy policies in addition to Mastercard privacy practices.  
• Respond to and process your inquiries, complaints, and disputes.
• Protect against and prevent fraud; unauthorized activity; and claims and other liabilities; and manage risk exposure and franchise quality.
• Perform auditing, research, and analysis in order to maintain, protect, and improve our services.
• Operate, evaluate and improve our business (including by developing new products and services; managing our communications; determining the effectiveness of our advertising; analyzing our products, services, and websites; facilitating the functionality of our websites and mobile applications; and performing accounting, auditing, billing, reconciliation, and collection activities).
• Perform data analyses (including anonymization of personal information) to determine, among other measurements, business performance, user engagement, number of registrants, channels, and Platform performance.
• Assist third parties in the provision of products or services that you request from third parties.
• Enforce our Terms and Conditions.
• Comply with applicable legal requirements and industry standards and our policies.

We also may use your Personal Information in other ways for which we provide specific notice at the time of collection. We will seek additional consent for other uses, where required by law.

We will only process your Personal Information for the above purposes when we have a valid legal ground for the processing, including if:

• You have consented to the processing of your Personal Information.
• We need your Personal Information to provide you with the services in connection with the Event, and/or to respond to your inquiries.
• The processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation.
• We, or a third party, have a legitimate interest in using your Personal Information, such as to ensure and improve the safety, security, and performance of our products and services, to protect against and prevent fraud, to anonymize Personal Information and carry out data analyses.

We do not share or otherwise disclose Personal Information we collect about you, except as described in this Privacy Notice or otherwise disclosed to you at the time the data is collected.

We may share the Personal Information we collect with our headquarters and affiliates, including Mastercard International.

We may share Personal Information with Suppliers for the fulfillment of your event package and facilitate your attendance or otherwise required to provide the services to you in connection with the Event, such as hotel and transportation bookings, and other travel-related services. Such Suppliers may act as a data controller with respect to such data in order to provide you with additional services in connection with the Event.

If you registered for an Event on the Platform in connection with a program offered by a Mastercard customer, which may include your issuing bank or a merchant, we may share your Personal Information with the relevant Mastercard customer for the following purposes:

• To facilitate your participation in such program, pursuant to the relevant Mastercard customer’s program terms and privacy notice. Please note that under such circumstances, the relevant Mastercard customer may process data for its own purposes as a data controller.
• To promote the Event and for other promotional and marketing activities related to the promotion of their brands and/or products and services throughout the world in their media channels.
• To evaluate the Event internally and to develop, operate, and improve future initiatives.

We may share Personal Information with other Event participants or Platform users in connection with the Event and through the user interaction functionalities within the Platform.  For example, we may share attendee lists and/or the photos and/or videos of you with other Event participants, including you, for your and their personal use. For certain Events, we may include user interaction features in the Platform that enable you to publish content, including Personal Information, that may be visible to other Platform users (e.g., status update, photo, check-in).

We also may share Personal Information with our service providers who perform services on our behalf and in relation to the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, such as companies that develop and support the operation of the Platform, and send email or other electronic communications. We require these service providers by contract to only process Personal Information in accordance with our instructions and as necessary to perform services on our behalf or comply with legal requirements. We also require them to safeguard the security and confidentiality of the Personal Information they process on our behalf by implementing appropriate technical and organizational security measures and confidentiality obligations binding employees accessing Personal Information.

We also may disclose Personal Information about you: (i) if we are required or permitted to do so by law or legal process, (ii) in response to a request from a court, law enforcement authorities, or government officials, or (iii) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss, or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual fraudulent or illegal activity.

We also reserve the right to transfer Personal Information we have about you in the event we sell or transfer (or if we are contemplating a sale or transfer of) all or a portion of our business or assets. Should such a sale or transfer (including any proposed sale or transfer) occur, we will use reasonable efforts to direct the transferee to use Personal Information you have provided to us in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Notice.

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• Request access to and receive information about the Personal Information we maintain about you, to update and correct inaccuracies in your Personal Information, to restrict or to object to the processing of your Personal Information, to have the information anonymized or deleted, as appropriate, or to exercise your right to data portability to easily transfer information to another company. In addition, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, including in your country of residence, place of work or where an incident took place.
• Withdraw any consent you previously provided to us regarding the processing of your Personal Information, at any time and free of charge. We will apply your preferences going forward and this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before your consent withdrawal.
• Opt out from receiving marketing communications by clicking on the unsubscribe link contained in such communications.

Those rights may be limited in some circumstances by local law requirements.

If you created an account in connection with an Event and would like to update the information we have about you or your preferences, you may do so by logging into your account and modifying the data you have entered in the Platform while the Event is active.

We maintain appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect Personal Information against accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, unauthorized alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access, misuse, and any other unlawful form of processing of the Personal Information in our possession. We restrict access to Personal Information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you.

We also take measures to delete your Personal Information or keep it in a form that does not permit identifying you when this information is no longer necessary for the purposes for which we process it in the context of the Platform or when you request their deletion, unless we are required by law to keep the information for a longer period. When determining the retention period, we take into account various criteria, such as the type of products and services requested by or provided to you, the nature and length of our relationship with you, possible re-enrolment with the Platform, the impact on the services we provide to you if we delete some information from or about you, mandatory retention periods provided by law and the statute of limitations.

Mastercard is a global business. We may transfer or disclose Personal Information we collect about you to recipients in countries other than your country, including to the United States where our global headquarters are located. These countries may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you initially provided the information. When we transfer or disclose your Personal Information to other countries, we will protect that information as described in this Privacy Notice.

We comply with applicable legal requirements providing adequate safeguards for the transfer of Personal Information to countries other than the country where you are located. In particular, we have established and implemented a set of Binding Corporate Rules (“BCRs”) that have been recognized by EEA data protection authorities as providing an adequate level of protection to the Personal Information we process globally. We may also transfer Personal Information to countries for which adequacy decisions have been issued, use contractual protections for the transfer of Personal Information to third parties, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or rely on third parties’ certification to the EU-U.S. or Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks where applicable. You may choose to use certain features for which we partner with other entities, or click on links to other websites or applications for your convenience and information.  These features, which may include social networking services, geographic location tools, and other apps and websites, may operate independently from Mastercard. They may have their own privacy notices or policies, which we strongly suggest you review. To the extent any features or linked websites you visit are not owned or operated by Mastercard, we are not responsible for these websites and/or applications’ content, use, or privacy practices.

This Privacy Notice may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our Personal Information practices. We will notify you of any significant changes to our Privacy Notice and indicate at the top of the notice when it was most recently updated. If we update this Privacy Notice, in certain circumstances, we may seek your consent.
